In the city of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, there is a monument dedicated to a unique dog named Naida, who has become a true legend.
The owner of the animal tragically died in a car accident, and the dog stayed at this place and waited for him for twelve whole years. Compassionate residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur fed the dog and even built a booth. A monument was erected in honor of Naida, funds for which were collected not only by local residents, but also by people from many other Russian cities.
One day, in 2005, Nayda got under the wheels of a car at a pedestrian crossing near the park. The driver of the car ran over a passerby man who died on the spot. The dog survived, but injured his paw. After this incident, some said that the animal had disappeared somewhere, while others claimed that Naida was being treated in a clinic.
After some time, the dog returned to the bus stop located on Lenin Avenue, and again met and escorted the buses. The townspeople understood that Nayda was waiting for the owner, and did not drive her away. This has been going on for many years. The dog has become a real living attraction of the city.
Nothing was known about the owner of Naida, but her devotion was admired by everyone. The animal was periodically fed and two booths were built for her.
There were attempts to attach Naidu to new owners, but she ran away from home every time and returned to the same place. The dog was afraid of strangers, and took food only from those he knew well. Some media wrote that a woman named Tatiana Gromova was caring for Nayda.
In the park, which was located next to that very stop, the dog spent twelve years. During the gentrification of the park, the dog was temporarily taken to a kennel, where he was constantly sad and did not eat anything. At the request of the activists, Naidu was returned to her permanent «post».
Phenomenally devoted to the owner, the dog broke the record of the famous Hachiko, who spent ten years waiting for his owner.
Unfortunately for everyone, in 2016 the dog was hit by a car again, and she was brought to the Zoospas clinic, where she died a week later. All this time, Tatiana Gromova was next to Naida.
After that, residents of Komsomolsk-on-Amur, together with people from other cities, raised funds for the installation of a monument in honor of the devoted and faithful Naida.
Activists have created a small film dedicated to a unique animal.
