In summer, the baby’s body often has to experience unexpected changes for him — trips, flights, time zone changes, and these «stresses» inevitably affect his protective system. That’s why even a trifling infection (and in tropical resorts you can find far from harmless ones) can easily lead a baby to illness.
Situations when children catch a cold, barely having time to come to the sea, are not uncommon at all, and the reason for them is this.
Why does barley appear on the eye and how to cure it
To adapt to new conditions (including unfamiliar microbes and viruses), the baby’s body needs 7-10 days.
Before this time, he does not have time to get back to normal after the «change of places», and it is difficult for the protective system to give a decent rebuff to infections that abound in crowded resorts. That is why doctors advise to make the first week on vacation «sparing» for the child: for example, to postpone trips on excursions for the second half of the vacation. And when you return home, the baby’s protective system will need to be rebuilt back, and it will take the same 7-10 days.
Please note that it is easier to overcool a child in the heat than in the cold — a sharp temperature drop is enough — for example, alternating «swims» in cool water and games on hot sand near the shore.
A runny nose often turns into inflammation of the paranasal sinuses, especially if the child swims and dives a lot. As soon as you notice that the baby has a runny nose, it is better to stop bathing or at least shorten it and not allow the baby to dive and swallow water
Another common childhood illness during summer vacations is otitis media. It can develop if the child swims for too long and eventually hypothermia.
Little lovers of diving are especially at risk: if the reservoir is not too clean, microbes from there can get on the skin of the auditory canal and penetrate through microcracks, causing inflammation.
If a child has a runny nose on vacation, he also should not dive. And you can’t go up into the mountains. It is also undesirable to fly to a child with a runny nose — the pain in the ear that occurs in a person with pressure drops becomes especially severe due to a stuffy nose.
If you cannot avoid flying on an airplane, before takeoff and landing, drip vasoconstrictor drops into your nose, and anti—inflammatory anesthetics into your ears. Before dropping drops into the nose, the child needs to blow his nose thoroughly. An aspirator or a rubber pear will help very crumbs to clear the nose of mucus. If you feed your baby with breast milk, attach it to your chest during takeoff and landing — when swallowing, the baby’s ears will not be laid. For older children, stock up on lollipops or chewing gum.
