They live in Inverell in northern New South Wales. Charlie and Cullen are cute and self-sufficient people, and despite their diagnosis, they know how to enjoy life and strive for their goals. The man was born into a medium-sized family in Sydney, and the mother of his future wife had a similar diagnosis.
Charlie is only 1.37 m tall, and Cullen is 10 centimeters taller than his wife and eleven years older. Both lead busy lives, Charlie is passionate about bodybuilding and works for a successful TV company, and Cullen develops his own business. He has a rich acting experience, he starred in several Hollywood films, in particular «Snow White and the Huntsman».
Their relationship did not surprise friends and acquaintances, but the decision to have a child caused some condemnation. Charlie has achondroplasia – the most common diagnosis, which is characterized by a disproportionate addition and possible problems with the spine. Cullen has heleophysical dysplasia, his build is more proportional, but the disease affects the respiratory and cardiovascular systems.
The doctors explained that they have a 50% chance of having a child with dwarfism, 25% that he will inherit both forms of the disease, and 25% that he will be just average height. However, they still decided to experience parental happiness. They do not suffer from diseases due to their dwarfism, but live a full life of an ordinary family and are absolutely satisfied with it.
A couple of years ago, Charlie started an Instagram account and was shocked by the interest of followers. Today she has about 400 thousand subscribers and an important mission, as it turned out, there are still many people on the network who consider themselves entitled to condemn, as well as people who do not allow themselves to enjoy life because of dwarfism. The couple decided not to hide their everyday lives and thoughts from users, because the most valuable thing, according to Cullen, is when other short people reach out to him.
Today, the couple has two daughters, Isyn, the eldest Tilba inherited Charlie’s disease, and Tully — his father, the couple’s son was born absolutely healthy. Charlie has to answer incorrect and ignorant questions about bullying and condemnation from time to time, but she is sure that their openness has brought more benefit and understanding to others.
And she talks philosophically about haters, if desired, you can find a lot of reasons for hatred and dwarfism is only one of them. Their mission is to help people accept themselves and others with dignity, learn to look inside, and not judge by the cover.
