In 2014, unusual twins were born in the American Ohio. Newborn girls sweetly joined hands in the first seconds after their birth.
The addition to the System Thwaite family took place on the ninth of May. As soon as the doctors removed the babies from the mother’s womb, they grabbed each other by the hands and did not want to let go. Doctors had to literally uncouple tiny fingers to examine the newborns.
Then the pictures of the twins flew all over the world and touched many. But the parents probably experienced even stronger emotions. Pregnancy was not easy for the girls’ mother, Sarah. She spent almost the last two months of the gestation period on preservation in the clinic in order to deliver the crumbs at least until the 33rd week. Multiple pregnancies often end prematurely, but it was Sarah’s case that caused medical concerns.
The fact is that the girls were not simple twins, but monoamniotic, which in medical language is called «mono mono». Such a phenomenon is very rare. Such a pregnancy occurs in one case out of ten thousand. And the uniqueness lies in the fact that two fetuses in the womb share the amniotic sac (the fetal bladder in which they develop), as well as the placenta, which gives nutrition. Such a pregnancy can end sadly, for example, with the underdevelopment or intrauterine death of one of the twins or asphyxia – suffocation by the umbilical cord.
Fortunately, Jenna and Gillian entered this world alive, absolutely healthy and very strong. They appeared with a difference of 45 seconds, but did not want to part for a moment, so their hands tightly intertwined, making the medical staff, Sarah and her husband Bill cry with emotion.
A few weeks later, when the twins gained weight, they were discharged home. Sarah and her husband Bill started watching their amazing girls grow up. They continued to remain inseparable. When Bill went to the store with one of his daughters, and the other stayed at home with her mother, both babies were sad and constantly interested in each other. They spent most of their time together and often held hands.
Now Jenna and Gillian are already 7 years old. They are friendly and very close. The girls are very similar and often even behave almost the same, so mom compares them to two peas from one pod. Both Jenna and Gillian love to swim, frolic in the fresh air and play with the same toys. The sisters even like the same food.
And yet, as they grow up and become characters, differences and individual characteristics begin to manifest themselves. For example, Jenna prefers caution in everything, and her sister is more determined. The girls’ mother, Sarah, hopes that the close bond of her children will remain for life.
