The highest sand castle was built in Denmark

Competitions for the construction of sand sculptures are held in almost all cities of the world. In Denmark, such an event was approached especially responsibly, so the Danes managed to break the record recorded in Germany two years ago. Now it is Denmark that is considered the country where the largest sand castle was built.

The new short-lived structure has already been entered into the Guinness Book of Records. The castle with a height of 21 meters, three and a half meters more than the previous record holder, was built by 30 of the best sculptors of the Danish kingdom. The construction was managed by the Dutch sculptor Wilfred Stiger.

To create a masterpiece, it took about five tons of sand, which was brought in addition to the construction site. To strengthen the structure, they decided to add clay to the sand.

For greater strength, the creators of the project erected a high wooden frame: they rightly feared that the wind could damage the sandy structure. And on top of the Danish castle, a solution with an adhesive base was applied. This way the castle will last longer regardless of weather conditions.

Project manager John Andersen said that the castle is decorated with many episodes from the life of mankind. There was also a place for the coronavirus, which is still raging around the world, and Denmark is no exception.

Its author decided to place it at the very top to show how a simple disease can turn human lives upside down. However, the pandemic did not prevent the seaside town of Blokhus, where the castle was built, from becoming famous all over the world.
