Lacey Shillinglow was walking in the park with her dog and on one of the paths she almost stepped on a large, yellow-black insect. Looking closer, the girl realized that the bumblebee’s wing was damaged. The only way she could help him was to move him to a bush, away from the road, where he could be trampled.
Lacey let the insect climb up her arm and went to the nearest flower thickets and spent a lot of time trying to land a bumblebee on a flower. Bumblebee categorically refused to leave the savior.
The girl accepted Betty’s desire (this is the name she gave to a new friend) to settle down with her and since then they have been inseparable. Lacey’s parents showed understanding to this strange, but such a sweet friendship. Bumblebee, for two weeks of staying in the house, completely charmed the family. Betty doesn’t try to fly away, despite the open windows.
She accompanies the «hostess» everywhere, sitting in her hair or on sunglasses and attracting the astonished exclamations of passers-by. They eat together, and Betty is pampered not only with human pickles, but containers with honey, sugar syrup and strawberry jam are always placed on the table for her.
At night, the bumblebee settles in the bank, and in the morning it gets back into Lacey’s hair. The girl took the pet to the garden several times, hoping that she would stay in her native environment, but she is relentless. While Lacey is nearby, Betty is busily exploring the flowers, but as soon as she moves away a little, the bumblebee rushes after her with an offended buzz.
Interestingly, almost without leaving the long hair of the hostess, the bumblebee does not show any attention to her family members, neither her parents, nor her brothers and younger sister attract the faithful Betty.
During the days that the bumblebee lives in the house, he has never stung its inhabitants. Lacey herself is delighted with their touching friendship and she is sad that fluffy Betty will not stay with her for long. After all, nature has measured the bumblebee for only about a month.
