Many people know the tale of Mowgli, a boy who was raised by wolves. It turns out that such stories actually exist. In confirmation, we will tell you about Tippi Degre.
The girl was born in 1990 in Namibia, and since birth she has lived surrounded by wild animals. Her parents worked as freelance wildlife photographers, and instilled love and respect for animals in their daughter.
But the management of the reserve, where the couple worked, was very concerned about Tippi’s safety, and insisted that the family leave the territory of the reserve, providing the child with more comfortable conditions.
Therefore, the parents decided to move to the Botswana Nature Reserve, where they managed to come to an agreement with the management.
There, the baby had a friend – an elephant named Abu, and she also fell in love with the leopard J & B, with whom she adored playing in the desert.
For 10 years, Tippi has made friends with many wild animals, including ostriches, zebras, giraffes and even crocodiles. She could roll with them in the grass, ride them, feed them and even sleep next to them. Tippi clearly knew the rules that her parents had once taught her – to be friendly, not to make sudden movements and not to turn her back on predators.
After 10 years, Tippi’s family left for France. There the girl went to school, but she constantly remembered Africa as her home.
And at the age of 30, she finally returned to her native places to shoot as many as 6 wildlife films for the Discovery Channel, and also often appeared in the popular TV show «Fort Boyard» as a tiger caretaker.
Now she is happy to continue the work of her parents, has a website about Africa and runs a blog.
