New York animal rights activist Lucy is a volunteer by vocation, she could never pass by distressed animals. Once she had to work hard to arrange the fate of an entire dog family.
A stray mongrel gave birth to puppies in a forest belt, and after some time died. Orphaned kids wandered around the forest, confused and hungry. Lucy immediately began a rescue operation. She fished them out one by one, enticing them to goodies and only one, a light red-haired crumb, made the girl run around properly.
While her siblings were already in the care of the orphanage, little Taya (she received this name later) was desperately looking for salvation from a man. The frightened puppy literally seeped into the slightest crack, hearing Lucy’s approach. To what tricks the volunteer did not resort, all to no avail!
The dog incorruptibly left all the baits without attention, did not react to the affectionate voice, accustomed the volunteer to his presence. But Lucy could not give up on the baby, she understood that an abandoned puppy has very little chance of survival. The situation was resolved by nature.
The flood began and Taechka had no hiding places left where she could escape from the savior. The captured dog reluctantly trudged after the volunteer, in the veterinary clinic she huddled under the table in horror. The girl understood that over time the puppy would get used to people and was already looking for a loving owner for her.
She turned out to be an elderly woman who lived in a small private house. She already had three pets, two cats and a puppy, so the coward Taechka was lucky both with kind hands and with puppy playmates.
