The family adopted a Great Dane dog from a shelter. That’s how the pet continues growing up.

There is no doubt that Great Danes are hefty dogs. Now imagine a dog, which even among these giants is called a big man! It is precisely such a giant that a baby named Arnie grows up, who until recently lived in the Dogs Trust animal shelter in Glasgow, UK. And now Arnie has a new house.

Julie and Colin Reed fell in love with Arnie at first sight (despite their height difference)
The Reeds wanted to adopt a dog from a shelter, no matter what breed. When they saw Arnie, they immediately decided that he was what they needed.

The future owners were not afraid of the truly gigantic size of Arnie.
The dog was weighed for the first time when he was 8 weeks old – and even then the scales showed a figure of 10 kilograms. Now Arnie is 5 months old, and he has grown to 43 kilograms. And this is just the beginning!

The veterinarians from the shelter believe that Arnie will grow up. Once in two.
But this does not bother his owners at all, because they have everything Arnie needs for a comfortable dog life.

The Reeds have a plot of land and the opportunity to keep such a dog.
Arnie is happy to rush around on a plot of 1 acre (0.4 hectares) and eats from the heart – in a day the dog eats one and a half kilograms of raw meat, eating it with eggs, fish and vegetables.

In addition, Arnie will obviously not be lonely – the Reeds have 4 more dogs.

When the whole company walks together, it looks just hilarious, the owners say that despite his height, Arnie is a real child in his soul, albeit a dog; “He is gentle, loving and so playful. We are glad that we have a big enough house where there is a place for our hippo,” the owners say.
