Chelsea Hill was waiting for the most important and happy event in her life – a wedding with a loved one. The girl had been preparing for it for a long time and on this day she really wanted to fulfill another of her dreams – to walk down the aisle on her own.
The fact is that in 2010, Chelsea was paralyzed after the accident: the lower part of her body did not move. Although this chained the girl to a wheelchair, it did not deprive her of willpower, optimism and freedom. She became a defender of the disabled, an activist and even the founder of the wheelchair dancing club.
In 2014, Chelsea met Jay Bloomfield. He fell in love with a girl, and after a while he proposed to her. The limited possibilities of his beloved did not frighten him. He was ready to spend the rest of his life with Chelsea. And she began to prepare for the wedding and decided at all costs to make her way to the altar with her own feet.
Hill needed a special support on wheels, which was decorated in a wedding style. Also, fixing structures were prepared for the girl’s legs, which helped to stay in an upright position. And even the bride’s outfit was adapted for an important event: it had a removable skirt that easily unfastened so that the girl could sit in a wheelchair.

And when the groom saw that his bride was walking towards him with her own feet, he could not hold back tears of happiness. The girl herself was also incredibly happy. Later she said that she remembered these moments forever, because they are special. She is very glad that she was able to stand next to Jay. And although disability, according to Hill, did not take away something important from her, she really wanted to see the face of a loved one and feel his breath next to her.
Chelsea’s wedding was shot by photographer Asha Bailey. She captured all the most memorable moments and posted a slide created from beautiful pictures on her Instagram account. The video has gained a lot of likes and comments in a matter of hours. This day was definitely very important for Chelsea and Jay.
