This incident occurred on January 31 of this year with a four-year-old Indian boy named Shaurya Undre from Manjri. The child was playing in the grass while his father Mukesha was mowing the grass with a lawn mower. Not seeing his son, the man accidentally cut off his left hand. Fortunately, the surgeons managed to save the boy’s hand by performing a complicated operation.
The man quickly took his son to the hospital, where local surgeons immediately took over the rescue of the boy’s left limb. The operation lasted for six hours! The doctors managed to sew on the brush, connecting all the veins and arteries at the same time. So the boy’s arm will recover and be fully functional.
The operation was performed by microsurgeon Abhishek Ghosh. He used skin and vein grafts from the child’s leg. With their help, it was possible to attach Shaurya’s arm and ensure blood circulation.
Later, the doctor admitted that it was almost impossible to sew the brush back with such an injury, since the bones were sticking out on the arm, and the skin and muscles were hanging. But, looking at the child who has a whole life ahead of him, the doctor decided to do everything possible to save the boy’s hand.
The boy stayed in the hospital for a week, where he underwent a number of physiotherapy procedures, and was also taught to use the “new” hand again.
