A child has been lost in the American city of Ernul, North Carolina.
Three-year-old Casey Hathaway went to play with friends and did not return home. It was freezing outside, and the baby was not dressed for the weather. A search operation was immediately launched. Helicopters, drones, dog handlers, and divers were involved. In addition, volunteers worked in the forest, who combed it step by step. The next day, the weather turned very bad, it started to rain, a cold wind and the air temperature dropped a lot. Rescuers asked volunteers to stop the search, for their own safety.
By evening, the police finally heard the baby crying. The boy was found on a small island in a thorny bush, he was very cold and wet, but unharmed except for a few abrasions.
The kid explained to the rescuers that he had a friend in the forest who helped him and warmed him. He said that he spent all this time with a bear with whom he became friends. Then he asked for a drink of water and really wanted to go back to his mother. Casey told this story to his aunt.
«The Lord sent him a friend to take care of him. Miracles happen,» she said.
As Sheriff Chip Hughes later told, rescuers had to make their way to the child through icy water, where the depth of adult men was chest-deep. And the boy’s height is only about a meter, how he was able to get to the island himself is a mystery.
