How to properly introduce citrus fruits into the baby’s diet — pediatrician’s advice

If the expectant mother eats citrus fruits, for the first time the baby will taste them while still in the tummy, and after being born, he learns the taste through breast milk. Oranges, tangerines, lemons and grapefruits are rich in vitamins and other useful nutrients, but you should not get carried away with them, because these fruits can cause an allergic reaction. When a mother breast-feeds a baby, for the first time it is enough for her to try literally a slice of orange or tangerine, or even just drink weak tea, putting a lemon in the drink. Even if the child did not react to the innovation, do not rush to increase the portion. Moderation and accuracy — that’s your motto. After all, vitamin C is also found in black currants and apples. Moreover, black currant surpasses any citrus by this indicator.

Introducing the baby to juices, keep in mind that they are considered complementary foods, not drinking. Therefore, the attitude towards them should be appropriate. Introduce them gradually, always consulting with a pediatrician.
