However, the smell can be not only from cooking. Old pipes, problems with sewerage, a cat messed up, a rented apartment in which dubious aromas do not fade after previous tenants — there are many reasons, we counted at least eight. The garbage was not taken out for the night — that’s the whole problem. The mother of two children from Australia, Chantal Mila, has found a quick way to solve this problem, and we are sharing it with you.
Here’s what you’ll need:
a small saucepan- a bucket with a long handle,
water — two glasses,
ordinary table vinegar — one glass. Not to be confused with vinegar essence! If you take it, then you need to cut down the amount, the essence will be enough for literally two or three teaspoons;
a few slices of lemon.
«Pour water into a saucepan, immediately pour vinegar and add chopped lemon. Wait until the «lemon soup» boils, remove the saucepan from the stove and slowly walk around the apartment,» Chantal instructs her Instagram followers. «Just be careful, don’t get scalded by hot steam.»
The mixture works simply: vinegar vapors neutralize unpleasant odors floating in the air and quickly fade with them. And in their place remains the aroma of fresh lemon. The recipe is quick, simple and cheap — like all brilliant life hacks.
By the way, this is not the first time Chantal shares worldly wisdom. We have already written about how to get rid of dust in the house. There are also tips on how to save space in the linen closet — Mila showed a way to fold laundry as compactly as possible so that it takes up as little space as possible.
And in her piggy bank of life hacks there is a recipe for a fat remover. Shop sprays are not cheap, and you can make the product no worse with your own hands, but you can save a lot: you need to mix water, white vinegar in a spray bottle, add a few drops of dishwashing detergent and essential oil – whatever smell you like best — and the cleaner is ready.
