It became known about the Finland pensioner Helena Koskinen from the local TV channel, journalists filmed a report about an elderly woman living in a converted tank, without amenities, since the Soviet era. The fact that miracles, thanks to caring people, happen today, we tell on Lemurov.net .
Helena Koskinen was «stuck» in a temporary shelter for a long thirty-five years. She, then still a young worker, was promised to be given an apartment from the enterprise, but a few years later the Union began to fall apart and the cistern with homemade windows became a permanent haven for a single woman.
There is no running water in her home, in the cold she heats the temporary house with an old «bourgeois», and a few months ago, utilities turned off electricity. The pensioner took a loan from a bank to install gas heating and now the lion’s share of the 14 thousand monthly pension goes to repay the loan. In addition, the precious gas boiler was stolen while she was in the hospital.
After the hype in the press, local authorities offered Helena Koskinen a place in a nursing home, or office housing, provided she worked in a communal enterprise.
The third option – renting housing at commercial rates, the pensioner chose as the best for herself, since neither a bed in a nursing home, nor a broken, almost uninhabitable office apartment attracted her. However, she had to give it up because of her straitened financial situation.
The ordeal of an elderly woman would have continued like this, but her story attracted the attention of Instagram blogger Elena Trishina. She is engaged in active social activities in social networks, in her account there are many real projects where, thanks to the activity of users, the problems of disadvantaged people were solved.
Followers immediately responded to Trishina’s post, within a few days they managed to raise an amount of over 2 million rubles. The blogger had contacted Helena Koskinen before and offered to find an apartment together. I must say that the elderly woman did not share Elena’s optimism at all, although she was grateful for her participation in her fate.
Imagine her surprise when soon she was not only handed the keys to a nice two-bedroom apartment in a new building, furnished with furniture and appliances, but also gave the rest of the amount collected for her. By the way, the loan for the boiler stolen from the temporary shelter was also repaid.
The blogger does not think about negative comments under his posts. She continues her activity, believing that by helping other people, we help ourselves to remain human.
