Goddard is a small town in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. A little over 4,000 people live there. Therefore, the school here is very small, and only 15 teachers work in it.
So you can imagine what a stir the residents of Goddard caused from the message that 7 teachers at the school became pregnant at once. And how «pleased» it was the headmistress Ashley Miller!
“When the first two teachers told me that they were expecting a child, I was only glad. When the third one said the same, I was surprised. After the fourth message I was in some shock, after the fifth and sixth I panicked. And when the seventh one appeared, I just fell into a stupor and could only say: “Are you kidding?” Ashley Miller recalls.
“For 20 years of my work at the school, I have never had such a baby boom,” continues the headmistress.
One thing pleases, the teachers will still give birth not at the same time, but in turn. By the way, the first two babies were already born at the end of March. And the last baby is expected only in October. And given that maternity leave in the United States is no more than 12 weeks, then soon young mothers will again begin their teaching duties.
Therefore, Ashley Miller has already calmed down a bit: she managed to find a replacement for all the teachers for the period of the decree. And now the headmistress even jokes that the sponsors of their schools are simply obliged to be the diaper companies Pampers or Huggies.
According to the «culprits» of the baby boom themselves, at first they were also in some shock. And then they decided that “everything that is not done is for the better,” and organized a small club for expectant mothers. Now, right at work, they exchange their feelings and share news.
“When we arrive at school, the first thing we ask each other is: “Well, how do you feel?” We already have such a tradition, ”says fourth-grade teacher Kelly Jo Sheahon.
By the way, Kelly herself is expecting not one child, but twins. Therefore, in total, there will be not seven babies, but as many as eight.

The residents of the town, who are also puzzled by the school baby boom, jokingly come up with explanations for it. According to one version, drinking water is to blame.
“I was even warned several times: “Don’t drink water at school.” And I thought, “Too late,” laughs Kelly Jo Sheahon.
And Ashley Miller says that now she will look forward to the day when all the children grow up and go to study in their school.
