At the age of two, Darla-Evelyn Tindall has already starred in more than fifty professional photo shoots, earning tens of thousands of dollars. Not far behind her is her younger sister — 8-month-old Callie Meadow, Lily’s mom also constantly shoots and offers famous brands as a baby model. More precisely, they themselves make generous offers, but all this is not easy and, most importantly, incomprehensible to others.
Lily calls herself «momager» and emphasizes that she is self—taught. She is angry at the fact that everyone or almost everyone actively uses filters and simple editing of pictures of their children before posting them on social networks, and then with «honest eyes» they assure that «everything is natural.» Lily herself spends 4 hours a day on professional retouching, plus the photo shoot itself lasts for more than one hour, and before that, the choice of clothes, the preparation of the young models themselves and other troubles. This is a hard and responsible job for the whole day, not counting the typical maternal worries, so keep your criticism to yourself.
There is no question of posting photos without retouching. What is good for a family album has no value in the modeling business, but in fairness, the girls themselves do not suffer in any way. No makeup, it’s better to increase the eyelashes in Photoshop, simultaneously removing spots and wrinkles, as well as tinting the lips. And in any case, the picture needs to be clarified so that the images are «angelic», otherwise they will not buy. And here’s a moment like this, even though Darla has beautiful brown eyes, and Callie has blue ones, it’s better to repaint them in expressive brown and blue colors.
There are a lot of edits, a lot, and this despite the fact that in general the models are obedient and the original pictures are not bad. But out of two hundred, only 4-5 will go to work, while you will have to repaint all the clothes along the seam, make them shiny and airy, bright and festive. And then, yes, photos of little beauties posted on a personal blog will attract the attention of managers of different companies and it will be possible to discuss the terms of a paid photo shoot. But this is an everyday job, with a minimum number of days off.
Is it appropriate to use children for earnings, to exploit them? Well, photo shoots in beautiful dresses are better than forcing kids to climb on a high chair and read hateful rhymes to unfamiliar adults. Lily’s daughters perfectly understand the essence of the process, they are very worried when mom sets up the equipment, they try to look decent in the frame. And then they watch with fascination as she «redraws» them in the editor. Darla and Callie distinguish their reflections in the mirror from photographs, and the retouched images are considered «pictures for a fairy tale» and perceive it as a game.
Everyone earns as much as they can, and instead of wallowing in domestic problems, Lily chose the path of creativity. And good fees for luxury photos are a great bonus. Her husband is far from it, but he sees the family happy and has nothing against it. And Lily advises the spiteful ones to try to seriously get down to business and then there will be neither strength nor desire left for spitting bile.
