When a doctor announces that they are having twins, it is always a surprise. The husband thinks that he can earn more; the wife thinks that she owns the property of free time (which is already lacking). Can you imagine how happy Bobbie McCohugh was when she immediately found out that she were going to have not one baby but seven?
Just a Baptist Family
Bobby and Kenny McCohugh have been involved in the Iowa court for most of their lives. On weekdays, the hardworking couple earned money, dreaming of quickly buying themselves a house, on weekends they would certainly go to a service in the Baptist church. In January 1996, their daughter Mikayla was born. Even before the girl was born, they decided that they would have three, and maybe even four children, but the doctors told Bobby that this was unlikely to work out.
The woman began to take medication and became pregnant again. The fact that there are seven embryos at once is delayed at the very first ultrasound. Doctors warned that it was unlikely that they would be able to wear them. Anyway, on November 17, 1997, the boys Kenny, Nathan, Brandon and Joel were born, as well as the girls Alexis, Natalie and Kelsey.
The whole country learned about this amazing case. Hundreds of congratulations poured in from compatriots, including celebrities. Former president also congratulated on the addition to the family. The twins and their happy parents flaunted on the front pages of the newspaper.
Everything is mixed up in the McCohugh house.
Kenny McCohugh was a kitchen furniture maker and served as a weekend deacon in a convenient Baptist ward. He could not leave work to help his wife with children. But he helped relatives, neighbors and, most importantly, volunteers. A schedule was drawn up. Someone cleaned the house, someone fed the children, and someone went to the grocery store.
Numerous benefactors gave the young family a 500-square-meter house and a minivan. In addition, they are waiting for a two-year supply of diapers and clothes, as well as part-paid babysitting services. Iowa authorities have confirmed that when the children enter any public university, they will be assigned a monthly stipend.
