A sixth-grader jumped into an icy lake to save the boy

This story happened in the village of Greenwich, New York. There is a small lake here, which turns into a skating rink in winter. Some of the guys skate, and some of them play hockey.

The eight-year-old boy John was called home by his mother. The kid, in order to get to the parent faster, decided to shorten the path. He went through the reeds. But the ice here was thin. He could not stand the weight of John and cracked. The boy was in cold water. The kid screamed and started calling for help.

The first person who hurried to save John was sixth-grader Andreas Brown. But the trouble is, when he got to the boy, Andreas himself fell through the ice. But to the bottom in this place is about two meters. It would seem that both guys have no chance of salvation anymore.

John and Andreas were helped to get out by the jacket of the older boy. The air bubble formed in its folds kept them on the surface.

First, Andreas pushed John out of the hole, and then he got out of the icy water himself. At home they had to tell about the reasons for wet clothes.

A few days later, the whole school found out about the heroic act of the sixth-grader. Andreas himself did not tell anyone except his parents about John’s rescue. All because I didn’t see heroism in my actions.

In honor of Adam, a solemn ruler was arranged at the educational institution, at which the young and modest hero was awarded a diploma. Later, Andrey was nominated for the “Hot Heart” award.

“We did not expect such actions from him, because the boy shows average knowledge at school, but in life he turned out to be such a hero,” said the director of the school where Andreas studies.
