Jessica Fitzjohn’s family has lived in the United Arab Emirates for a long time. But in March of this year, the woman had to urgently fly to the UK – her father died. Only now, having seen off a loved one on her last journey, she could not return home.
The coronavirus pandemic began to gain momentum, and one by one countries began to close their borders. At home, the girl had a 7-year-old son, Archie, and her husband, who believed that they would soon be able to see and hug Jessica again.
But time passed, and the situation did not change. And then Archie, who misses his mother very much, decided to take matters into his own hands. A great idea came to his head: he decided to write a letter asking for help to Sheikh Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi.
The boy, as best he could, portrayed his mom, and wrote that he had not seen her for 52 whole days. How the letter got into the hands of the sheikh is unknown, but it is a real miracle. After all, the sheikh himself, after reading it, personally wrote an answer in which he admired Archie’s courage.
But 64 year old Saud bin Saqr al-Qasimi did not just give an answer, he signed a permit for Jessica to return home. Now the family is together again, and even 2 weeks of observation will not overshadow this joyful event.
